Muddpuppy created several cover directions for Milkweed to choose from. The publisher and the author were very excited about the options and stated they had a difficult time choosing. The cover chosen reflected the friendship that is described in the story between the three girls, but incorporates whimsy to appeal to the tween market. Discovering Pig Magic has been a success and Muddpuppy designed the sequel cover shown.
